PINK CARPET PROJECT

Pink Carpet Project:
Portland (and Seattle) Fashion Stand with Planned Parenthood

On February 1st, we heard the news that Susan G. Komen was going to cut funding to Planned Parenthood's preventative clinical breast exams to uninsured women. Although they have reversed their decision, the Seattle fashion community was inspired to come together to show our support to Planned Parenthood of the Great Northwest. Four weeks later with 14 designers, 60 models, 30 hairstylists & makeup artists, 40 volunteers, 10 performers, 45 sponsors and 200 attendees, Seattle came together to stand with Planned Parenthood, and it was pretty amazing.

Now, we're bringing the Pink Carpet Project to Portland.

Emceed by the dynamic and fashionable duo: Eden Dawn, fashion editor of Portland Monthly Magazine, and the Mercury's Marjorie Skinner, the Pink Carpet Project will present collections by both Seattle and Portland's top designers. Event proceeds will go to benefit Planned Parenthood Columbia Willamette.

Pink Carpet Project featured designers:

Lisa Vian Hunter, featured on NBC's "Fashion Star" Clear Coated Rainwear
